Public Event at State Museum to Feature Speakers on Pennsylvania Politics

October 27 at 5 p.m. at The State Museum of Pennsylvania How have Pennsylvanians helped to shape and complete the policies of the nation's leading office? What have been the historic trends, and how may they affect the 2008 election outcome?

Dr. G. Terry Madonna will address these topics and much more in his timely presentation at The State Museum of Pennsylvania, Harrisburg, on October 27 at 5 p.m.

Dr. Madonna is a professor and director of the Center for Politics and Public Affairs at Franklin and Marshall College, and director of the Franklin and Marshall College Poll, Lancaster. His recently published book, Pivotal Pennsylvania: Presidential Politics from FDR to the Twenty-First Century explores Pennsylvania's role in politics from 1932 through the 2004 election. In addition to discussing the election span of the book, Dr. Madonna will also present up-to-date information about the 2008 presidential election.

Welcoming attendees prior to Dr. Madonna's presentation will be Dr. Kenneth C. Wolensky, a historian with the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission who has published and spoken widely on the history of labor, industry, politics, and public policy. Dr. Wolensky will provide a brief presentation entitled "Lessons and Leaders from Pennsylvania's 20th-century Politics." He will highlight several of the leading figures in PA's 20th-century political world and review some of the key lessons learned.
